It WILL happen to YOU

Be real with yourself. Cut out all of the excuses in your life. How much time do you really have for self-improvement each day? Add up all of your available minutes in any given day and I guarantee you CAN find 20 minutes of free time for exercise. But what are you choosing to do instead?

Get real with yourself at the grocery store. This doesn’t mean banning Oreo cookies from your cart, but how about tossing in a bunch of bananas and some fresh spinach while you’re at it? Small steps…baby steps really!

Get real with yourself by being proactive rather than reactive when it comes to your health. In other words, don’t wait until you’ve got tubes stuffed up your nose and arteries as clogged as your kitchen sink on a bad day, before deciding to make a change. That’s just plain stupid! Make the change today…NOW!

Get out of your head the idea that “it’s not going to happen to me.” You are living in the clouds! Why not live your life like “it will happen to me if I don’t do something to prevent it.” It’s not far off. You’ve been given the gift of a body- it might not be the shape or size you most desire and it might be on the verge of needing cholesterol-lowering medication. But there’s no reason why you can’t start making better choices to improve your shape and possibly lower your cholesterol enough to stay off of meds. I’ve seen it happen!

It has to be important enough for you to see and do something about it. If you can’t rate the importance at an 8 or above (on a 1-10 scale), then maybe you need to reconsider your priorities. Because it really is about priorities. What are YOUR priorities?

Yes, it will happen to you if you don’t do something about it. I’ve seen it before. No one is immune. Not the very young, very old, very rich or very beautiful. Time to get your rear in gear because YES, it will happen to YOU if you don’t do something NOW.

PS: And that something could be as simple as taking a 15 minute walk after dinner each day. That. Is. It.
