Eat with the end in mind
The easiest way to begin making better food choices is to eat with the end in mind. I’m not talking about the end of the world here, but rather eating how you want to feel. The very next time you sit down to a meal or snack, ask yourself: How do I want to feel after I eat?
- Do I want to feel sluggish, unproductive, unhealthy and zapped of energy? Well, then the solution is simple—eat a high fat, high sodium, high sugar meal! A doughnut, pastry, bowl of sugary cereal or greasy sausage and egg croissant for breakfast should do the trick!
- Do I want to feel energetic, productive, healthy and vibrant? Well, then choose the foods that will support that outcome: fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, lean protein and healthy fats. Eat a bowl of oatmeal mixed with fresh berries, a handful of almonds and a drizzle of honey and you will feel like a rock star!
Remember this one simple rule to begin eating better today: Eat with the end in mind.
